Royal AM’s expulsion likely to assist Chippa top-eight aspirations
Chippa United are contesting their 12th season in the top flight but have only placed in the top eight once, in 2016 when they achieved sixth spot. It looks as though they may be headed for another lofty finish this season. That largely depends on how they perform in their remaining four Betway Premiership matches and also whether Royal AM’s results are annulled, which appears likely once the Premier Soccer League resolves their behind-closed-doors matters.

Eastern Cape teenager to appear in court over grandfather’s murder
A 17-year-old girl is due to appear in the Komani magistrate’s court on Wednesday for allegedly killing her 51-year-old grandfather. The incident occurred on Sunday after 11pm at Nzothoyi, Tylden. Police spokesperson Captain Yolisa Mgolodela said the grandfather and his granddaughter had apparently quarrelled, which allegedly led to the girl stabbing him with a broken bottle lid.

Power outage hits parts of East London after breaker trips
Parts of East London have been left without power on Wednesday morning after a breaker tripped. Buffalo City Metro confirmed the power outage on its social media platforms. “We are aware that parts of East London are without power due to a 132kV breaker that tripped at Stafford switch house,” the metro posted on its Facebook page.
